Our bodies are really influenced by what we put in them. Healthy kai keeps us well fuelled!

Much like a car won't operate smoothly without the right petrol and oil, our bodies can come to a grinding halt without the right fuel.


Kai has a direct impact on our physical health, and our emotional wellbeing. When we don't eat enough food, or don't eat the right kinds of food, we can be left feeling tired, have issues concentrating and have a lower mood.


Eating well can also help us to reduce the risk of a number of conditions such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease and bowel cancer.


Ideally we need a good balance of food from four main food groups to keep our bodies happy.


  • Fruit and veg - needed to help with our overall health and fighting diseases, boosting our mood and immune system
  • Grainy foods - provide us with energy and area  good source of fibre to support good gut health, and reduce the risk of obesity and bowel cancer
  • Meat and meat alternatives - helps to maintain muscle mass, assist with wound healing and keep our bodies strong
  • Dairy products - keeps our bones strong and helps reduce the risk of osteoporosis later in life
