Darlene is a proud Cook Island Māori wahine born and raised in the Manawatu. Darlene is the Regional Commissioner, Central Region for the Ministry of Social Development and holds the delegation of the Regional Public Service Commissioner for Manawatū-Whanganui. Having over two decades experience in the public sector. Her roles are focused on improving better outcomes for whānau through a unified public service that collaborate effectively across the system.
Darlene chairs the Regional Public Service Leaders Group for the region as well as chairs the Regional Leadership Group which is made of Iwi Leaders, Local Government and Central Government for Manawatū-Whanganui.
